What is a Society?

A society is a group of individuals who come together for a common cause such as charitable, cultural, educational, scientific, religious, or social welfare activities. To gain legal recognition and operational credibility, societies must be registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 or relevant state laws.

Tax Benefits – Eligible for tax exemptions under Section 12A & 80G of the Income Tax Act.
Transparency & Trust – Builds credibility for donors, members, and the public.
Ability to Open Bank Accounts – Registered societies can open and operate bank accounts in their name.
Right to Own Property – Can buy, lease, and manage assets legally.
